We are seeking a highly skilled Media and Communications Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the interests of WALGA and its members.
Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including the media, State and Federal Government, and Local Government Communication experts.
Crafting compelling narratives and sellable stories to showcase the great work of WALGA's members.
Liaising with the Marketing, Events, and Comms team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
Providing expert advice on media and communications matters to WALGA staff and members.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
Proven experience in media and communications, with a strong track record of delivering results.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and sellable stories.
Strong media connections and a thorough knowledge of legislation and professional ethics relating to media and communications.
Able to think strategically and make informed decisions quickly.
Natural ability to build relationships with people from all backgrounds and at all professional levels.
