Communications Coordinator at The Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration
The Eye-Bank seeks one full-time communications coordinator to help promote the organization’s mission of educating the public and increasing awareness for the importance of restoring sight through eye donation and cornea transplants.

The Eye-Bank seeks one full time communications coordinator to help promote the organization’s mission of educating the public and increasing awareness for the importance of restoring sight through ocular donations, cornea transplants and research.
Role Description:
· Write, edit and proofread public information pieces (newsletters; brochures, etc.) for print and digital formats. Emphasis on excellent journalistic style for website and newsletters.
· Coordinate in-house video testimonial production: identify transplant recipient/donor family members to be featured; write and/or supervise scripts; and coordinate efforts with the team.
· Help coordinate designated outreach efforts including: Donor Enrollment Day, Donor Sabbath, Legislative Education Day and Eye Donation Month.
· Cooperate with other departments including Development and Hospital and Community Liaisons on special events, health fairs and community outreach.
· Facilitate communications with eligible Donor Family members regarding the NYS Donate Life Medal, including fulfillment.
· Facilitate donor family and recipient correspondence according to Eye-Bank policy.
· Facilitate the outreach program, including finding young recipients to feature and supply artwork for public education uses.
· Monitor and coordinate applications for the organization’s scholarships, providing materials and input for applicants to comply with project requirements.
· Coordinate Eye-Bank volunteers including recruitment, training, and placing volunteers in outreach opportunities.
· Cooperate with other departments on special events, health fairs and community outreach.
· Respond to general inquiries posted to The Eye-Bank’s website.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or Communications; 3-5 years work experience in a related field; excellent and diversified writing/editing skills for both traditional and digital media; knowledge of email marketing platforms and social media platforms; excellent organizational skills. Proven writing skills required. Spanish writing/speaking a plus.
