Global Communications
Global Communications, designs and implements communications strategies which support HSBC’s business objectives, in line with our values, and enhance and protect our reputation among key stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Global Communications team.
Role purpose
The role holder is responsible for executing external and internal communications in-country, reporting to Head of Communications, India.
The focus of the role will be to manage the business reputation and positioning in-country, delivering an integrated communications strategy that is aligned to the global businesses and functions.
In this role, the Communications Manager will:
• Creates and builds relationships with external stakeholders that will take an interest in and want to talk about HSBC, whether positively or negatively (e.g. media trade bodies)
• Utilises media relationships to deliver coverage for relevant Global campaigns and positioning for the global businesses that reinforces HSBC’s leadership on priority global themes
• Identifies opportunities for cross-border and cross business media activity in support of key trade/business corridors or collaboration efforts
• Delivers global employee campaigns locally ensuring the messages match HSBC’s values and resonate appropriately with the relevant audiences, adjusting them accordingly for country audience
• Measure impact and effectiveness, contributing to robust Snapshot results
• Create engaging content
• Identifies stories, pictures or metaphors that will help bring information and data to life in a way that will resonate with the audience enduring alignment to Global Businesses/Functions strategy and priorities
• Understands the benefits and drawbacks of different communications channels and identifies and selects which to use and when
• Ensures content and messages are regularly updated in order that they remain valid

• Support the delivery of a dynamic year-round Leadership communications programme within country that is compelling and motivational about the vision/direction/culture of the business
• Actively engage with functional and business peers to build and safeguard the reputation of HSBC regionally, including in-depth understanding risk escalation of business and customer trends that could impact the businesses’ reputation and performance
• Anticipate and identify issues that may have an impact on the Group and provide insight, analysis
• Help develop and package exciting content and messages to engage employees about progress and priorities, aligned to our purpose, strategy and values
• Help develop and deliver effective, clear messaging and tools that help people managers run effective briefings
