Role Description:

This is a remote volunteer role for a Communications Strategist. As a Communications Strategist with Engage, you will work remotely with other team members to support the development and implementation of communication strategies across multiple internal projects. Day-to-day tasks include conducting research, developing content for social media platforms, drafting press releases, developing communication plans, and tracking policy coverage.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase visibility and engagement across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
Create and curate engaging content, including posts, images, and videos, that align with our mission and resonate with our audience.
Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with team members to plan and execute campaigns, events, and initiatives, leveraging social media to promote participation and generate excitement.
Monitor trends and best practices in social media and communications, making recommendations for optimization and improvement.
Assist in the creation of press releases, newsletters, and other external communications materials as needed.
Cultivate relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other partners to expand our reach and impact.
Track and analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of our communications efforts, providing regular reports and insights to inform future strategies.
Represent [Organization Name] professionally and positively in all communications and interactions.
Qualifications:

Previous experience managing social media accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram) for an organization preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor messaging to Youth.
Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and engaging content creation.
Familiarity with social media analytics tools and platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to the mission and values of Engage.
Experience in a non-profit or similar organization is a plus
Availability to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to the role.
