Where you'll be working
You will join a specialist statewide program funded by NSW Health and delivered through WSLHD. The NSW Education Program on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) works at the intersection of public health, community development, and multicultural health, supporting the prevention of FGM/C and improving outcomes for women and girls affected or at risk.

What you'll be doing
In this dynamic community development and health promotion role, you will strengthen the capacity of affected communities across NSW to prevent FGM/C and improve health outcomes through education, co-design and partnership approaches.
Build networks with emerging and established communities and key stakeholders across NSW
Design, pilot and evaluate culturally appropriate health promotion and education initiatives
Co-design sustainable community education strategies with communities and bilingual educators
Deliver and coordinate training and professional development for community educators and leaders
Monitor program data, contribute to statewide planning, reporting and continuous improvement

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or related discipline

Selection Criteria:
1. Certificate IV in training and assessment or willing to obtain, highly developed communication, facilitation and presentation skills and experience in developing, delivering and evaluating training programs for adults.
2. Experience in working with FGM /C affected communities through the implementation of community development, adult health promotion and capacity building principles.
3. A working knowledge and understanding of the human rights framework, child welfare and legal issues relating to FGM/C in NSW.
4. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build productive working relationships with a range of health services, professionals, community and religious leaders.
5. Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluation of health education/promotion/ health literacy programs and projects in partnership with consumers, communities and wider stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated understanding of relevant state multicultural and refugee health focused policies and priorities, and ability to apply these in working with migrant and refugee communities.
7. Demonstrated evidence of effective written and oral communication skills
