Hybrid Position with at least 2 days in the Edmonton office weekly
About Us: Brain Care Centre (BCC) exists to give those impacted by acquired brain injury the support they need to overcome limitations, reconnect, rebuild, and thrive in the community. BCC is a registered charitable not-for-profit organization and serves the spectrum of brain injury from mild to severe. We have a team of service coordinators that support system navigation and access for clients, and a team of allied health professionals supporting device training, occupational therapy and counselling. Through individual appointments, classes, and groups, our clients unlock a holistic support system as they navigate life after brain injury.
Our team enjoys a hybrid work environment. We have two offices including Edson and Edmonton with our administrative head office located in Edmonton where we are proudly located at the Buchanan Centre.

Role: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the entirety of BCC communications and BCC’s volunteer program, while supporting event execution. With a small administrative team, support of additional administrative duties may be required in addition to participation in internal committees and working with the Board’s Fundraising Committee.
We are seeking a storyteller that can effectively share our story in a way that attracts increased interest and support to BCC. The individual should have the ability to take initiative, identifying opportunities for growth and engagement through traditional and grassroots channels with the skillset to produce high quality events, content, and collateral that builds BCC’s brand and reputation. Qualifications:
Related diploma or degree plus 3-5 years of related professional experience
Work experience within a nonprofit organization is strongly preferred
A genuine interest in communications and social media trends
A track record of producing impactful graphic and written communications including social, website, and print for various audiences, such as: clients with aphasia, donors, granting agencies, and medical professionals
A high attention to detail and sensitivity to maintaining Brand and style guidelines
Experience managing volunteers for various opportunities including corporate, events, and ongoing service enhancing roles
Familiarity with professional working boundaries and policies related to volunteer participation
A team player that celebrates and leans into strengths in others
Fluency with online tools and social media, we use: FB, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Mailerlite, Wordpress, and Canva regularly
Experience operating in a hybrid work environment is considered an asset
Clear criminal record check for vulnerable sectors
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and report on a communications plan that aligns with organizational goals
Establish clear brand guidelines, templates, and collateral assets
Increase engagement and profile of BCC to ensure all eligible clients know how to access services and to attract grants and donations by compelling philanthropic activity
Manage all digital media including content creation and management BCC’s social media accounts and website, including interacting with the various audiences on each platform
Prepare and distribute monthly e-newsletter and semi-annual magazine
Work with management and the Fundraising Committee to ideate fund and awareness raising event concepts, supporting event delivery
Expand and manage BCC’s volunteer program which includes client services, office, and event volunteers
Meaningfully engage other BCC staff in community engagement initiatives
Assist with donor, grant, and other market research when required
Administrative tasks to support the organization as required
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience.
Employees are eligible for a 5% RRSP match after six months, cost-shared health and dental benefits after 3 months, 3 weeks paid vacation, 2 weeks off at the end of December, and a hybrid work environment with free parking.
