Ngalapita Remote Community School opened December 1, 2003, in the community of Koorabye. The name for the school comes from a nearby billabong which is central to the lives of the Aboriginal people, who, apart from the teachers, make up this community.

The Role

We are actively seeking a Primary Teacher with exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. You will engage in professional learning, work professionally with colleagues, and ideally have good communication and interpersonal skills, working as a member of a vibrant and enthusiastic school team.

The successful applicant should possess the ability to work in multi-age group classes requiring differentiation and have a sound awareness of how to embed the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework into daily practice. The successful applicant will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs for a small class with mostly middle primary students. As a Primary Teacher you would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development.

Ideally you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practices. The capacity to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued.
