Your role
Are you a sharp evaluator of operational risk? Do you have experience in audit, control testing and providing compliance or risk advisory services within an investment bank ? Are you confident when it comes to speaking up for what is right and challenging at all levels?
We are looking for an investment bank compliance and operational risk officer to:
• support the business with its regulatory commitments to provide ongoing assessment and oversight over risks, controls and policies for Designated Market Activities (DMA) within the Investment Bank, Group Functions and Global Wealth Management
• drive as a team member independent controls testing and review of DMA business risks within the Investment Bank, Group Functions and Global Wealth Management, including thematic and front-to-back reviews
• analyze and assess DMA risks, policies and perform control design and operating effectiveness testing in both DMA businesses and Group functions
• identify, assess, report and escalate issues and control deficiencies to control owners, key stakeholders and senior management
• assist the business and control owners to mitigate identified risk issues by defining and agreeing appropriate remediation actions and track progress of those actions
• deliver independent risk assessment reports to UBS senior management from control reviews that shed light on the DMA risk profile
Your team
You’ll be working in the Investment Bank aligned Compliance and Operational Risk Control team in Mumbai. We primarily support the Investment Bank business by partnering with them to effectively manage regulatory risk in an environment of collaboration and constructive challenge. Our duties include implementing the Operational Risk Framework for Designated Market Activities and ensuring our regulatory and operational risks are identified, properly assessed and recorded.
You'll play an important role in helping us continue to provide oversight over DMA control effectiveness and evaluate DMA risks and making sure adequate remediation plans are in place and actioned. You'll collaborate with global colleagues to ensure that best practices are being shared around the region/globe in testing. DMA is terminology used by the Federal Bank of New York to describe specific UBS business activities and market conduct risks identified as part of the FX Consent Order (2015).
