Compliance and Regulation Officer (3 Positions)

LOGO Management Australia is working with the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) to recruit three Compliance and Regulation Officers to participate in a 12 month pilot of the Cumberland Plains Conservation Plan compliance strategy.

The CPCP is a conservation plan for Western Sydney that identifies strategically important biodiversity areas within the Cumberland subregion to offset the biodiversity impacts of future urban development and to facilitate a vibrant, green and liveable city until 2056.

Suitable candidates will work closely within a dynamic team, will have an understanding of local and state government processes and be able to work semi-autonomously to deliver optimum outcomes for Western Sydney councils within the CPCP area.

It is highly desirable that successful candidates will either need to demonstrate or be willing to undertake training to gain an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Candidates who can demonstrate an ability to build positive relationships with councils, external agencies and a wide range of regional stakeholders and a desire to contribute to inclusive, respectful and culturally safe working environments will be highly regarded.

This is a temporary contract position until December 2026 which may have potential for extension.
Salary ranges from $+0,000 to $100,000 + 11.5 % super plus $12K vehicle allowance.
Secondment of staff from participating Councils is available and will be facilitated at the GM/CEO level should this be desirable. (Participating councils are - Blacktown, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith, Wollondilly.)

Essential Selection Criteria.

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in implementing compliance and regulation in a government or non-government setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary operational and strategic requirements for undertaking complex compliance programs, audits and investigations.
Relevant experience in administration, business management or service delivery.
Demonstrated understanding of local government processes, services and systems.
Relevant Council Law Enforcement Officer training such as Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or Certificate IV Government (Investigations) or similar qualification or undertaking a relevant qualification or demonstrated relevant experience and willingness to complete relevant qualification.
Experience in gathering evidence and preparing briefs of evidence
Advanced interpersonal, communication (written and oral), conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Strong organisational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
Criminal History Check given the regulatory and compliance activities conducted.
