Position Overview:
We are seeking a mature, experienced, and highly proactive Legal & Compliance person to join our dynamic legal team. This pivotal role requires a seasoned legal professional who can provide comprehensive legal and compliance support, anticipate business needs, and strategically partner with various departments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across corporate law, intellectual property, data protection, and litigation management, coupled with a strong business acumen to advise on innovative ventures and ensure robust risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Compliance & Risk Management:
• Assist businesses with comprehensive compliance and risk management matters.
• Conduct legal audits and due diligence to identify and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with various internal departments to ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal compliance frameworks.
• Legal Communications & Advisory:
• Draft legal notices, representations, and replies against notices issued by statutory authorities.
• Issue timely and practical legal advice and assistance to various business units.
• Litigation Management:
• Coordinate effectively with external Advocates and Counsels in connection with all company litigation, including but not limited to consumer litigation.
• Oversee the preparation and review of all pleadings and documentation related to such litigations.
• Strategic Business Advisory:
• Anticipate legal support needs of the business and help define and drive the strategic legal plans for new business initiatives.
• Provide proactive business advisory on new ventures, regulatory landscape, and legal feasibility of business models.
• Ensure compliance of advertisement creatives and marketing campaigns from a legal and ethical standpoint.
• Advise on data protection, privacy laws, and technicalities related to T&C, ensuring robust data governance.
• Technical Compliance & Business Interrogation:
• Provide expert guidance on compliance from both a business and technical standpoint, specifically on T&Cs, data protection, and digital marketing compliance
• Engage in critical business questioning to understand legal implications of new strategies and advise on permissible business activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
• LLB degree from a reputable university; LLM is a plus.
• Post-qualification experience in the corporate.
• Proven expertise in the IT Act, data protection regulation laws.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear, concise, and business-focused legal advice.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and risk identification.
• Proven ability to manage complex legal projects independently and collaboratively.
• Mature mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach and a high degree of integrity.
