Job Description
Candidate will work as part of the GS Bank (“Bank”) Compliance team to support the implementation of the Bank’s Compliance Risk Management Program, with a primary focus on certain Bank regulatory matters. Such matters include i) Regulation W compliance with regard to the Bank’s transactions with affiliates, ii) Regulation O compliance regarding transactions with Bank Insiders, iii) Regulation K which governs the international activities of a U.S. Bank and, iv the determination of Bank eligibility for lending and certain other activities transacted in the Bank. The position requires analytical skills to review transactions of varying complexity to identify Bank regulatory impacts; the ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail; and satisfying high priority and time-sensitive deliverables on a day-to-day basis and will provide an opportunity develop a deep understanding of the products that transact in the Bank and the firm’s operational processes. The candidate will be required to interact and manage work flow involving both business involving revenue divisions (e.g., IBD, CWMD, GMD) transacting in the Bank, as well as Federation groups (e.g., Legal, Operations, Controllers and the Engineering teams)
The candidate’s responsibilities would include:
• Review and determination of Bank eligibility for debt investment and lending activity
• Analysis of capital markets transactions entered into with affiliate entities and applicable Reg W governance rules
• Assist with governance and execution of Bank Insider compliance program
• Support the oversight processes for activities conducted within the Bank’s international subsidiary
• Understanding, applying and providing advice on applicable Bank regulations (e.g., Regulations W, K and O)
• Support and provide guidance on new business initiatives conducted in Bank
• Cross-departmental project management and involvement
• Assist with regulatory and internal investigations and audits
Basic Qualifications
• 4 – 5 years relevant experience
• Ability to understand and apply complex regulation
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Experience leading small or medium scale projects
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and relationship building abilities
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
