POSITION OVERVIEW: Alexander College is looking for dynamic and well-qualified faculty members to join us in building and developing a proposed Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence. This innovative degree is designed to equip students with practical, industry-aligned skills in applied AI and human-centered computing. The position advertised here requires expertise in software systems and engineering.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time Continuing
TERM: Winter 2026
SCHEDULE: Classes will eventually be scheduled Monday through Saturday, with allowance for two consecutive days off per week.

WHO WE ARE: Alexander College (AC) is a private pos-secondary institution serving approximately 3,000 students per year. QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, a Master’s with extensive industry/teaching experience may be considered).
Demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching and course development.
Proven ability to teach a range of systems-related and applied computing courses.
Industry experience in system design, databases, cloud platforms, or secure infrastructure is a strong asset.
All applications will be vetted to ensure compliance with DQAB’s definitions of “academically qualified” or “ experientially qualified” faculty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prior to programstart-up, the emphasis will be on curriculum development and institutional service in the Alexander Innovation Centre. After program start-up, This faculty position involves a combination of teaching (.66 FTE) and research-based institutional service (.34 FTE).
Annual course assignments will include (but are not limited to):
CPSC 301: Algorithm Design and Software Engineering
CPSC 303: Computer Hardware and Operating Systems
CPSC 306: Database Design and Optimization
CPSC 370: Computer Network Design, Operation, and Optimization
CPSC 372: Cloud Computing Fundamentals
CPSC 416: Software Testing Automation and Optimization
Other teaching duties as specified.
