Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with industry-standard estimating tools. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in project planning, budgeting, and contract negotiations, contributing to the overall success and profitability of our construction projects.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed construction cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and site conditions using tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets and objectives.
Analyze bid documents, contracts, and project scopes to ensure comprehensive coverage of all costs involved.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Monitor project costs throughout construction to ensure adherence to budgets through effective cost control measures.
Provide input on project scheduling and resource allocation based on estimate data.
Review construction site conditions and integrate findings into accurate estimates.
Support contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to costs and scope of work.
Coordinate with project management teams to align estimates with overall project timelines and objectives.
Requirements
Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in commercial or heavy civil projects.
Proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
Solid understanding of construction site operations, management practices, and safety standards.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms for the company.
Strong knowledge of contracts, cost control strategies, pricing methodologies, and project management principles.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Prior experience working on construction sites is preferred to provide practical insights into estimating accuracy.
Relevant education or certifications in construction management or related fields are advantageous.
Pay: $57,181.37 - $68,863.59 per year
