Key Responsibilities
• Financial & Project Accounting:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general ledger entries.
• Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and ensure accurate revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion method.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports comparing actual costs vs. budgets to identify and report variances.
• Billing & Revenue Management:
• Verify and process Running Account (RA) bills and final bills based on the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Track client billing milestones and follow up on payment schedules to optimize cash flow.
• Manage lien releases and ensure all billing documentation complies with contract terms.
• Claims & Risk Management:
• Lead claims management efforts by identifying, documenting, and mitigating potential financial risks or project delays.
• Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and local tax laws (GST, TDS).
• Coordinate with external auditors for project-specific financial reviews and statutory audits.
• Operations & Vendor Coordination:
• Manage vendor and subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with payment terms and resolving billing disputes.
• Oversee back-office staff performance, providing mentorship and training to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management; CA/CPA or MBA (Finance) preferred.
• Experience: 8–12 years in construction or real estate back-office management.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, Yardi, or Procore) and expert-level MS Excel.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction-specific taxes (GST, TDS), labor laws, and BOQ-based billing.
• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
