About the role :
The Construction Manager is responsible for the delivery of construction projects to ensure they are executed efficiently, profitably, and to the appropriate standards of quality and safety following the Southbase “inside the box” systems and processes.
The role is charged with developing highly capable and competent Construction Project teams, targeting, and delivering high-margin project opportunities.
The Construction Manager demonstrates focus on customer relationships and securing work while managing and ensuring all projects are controlled in line with safety, quality, programme and profitability. Identification and nurturing of our future leaders with a focus on the development of Site Managers through to Senior Project Managers.
Formal Qualifications & Training :
Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, and or a National Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent trade certification.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are desirable.
Skills required :
Project Management: Proven ability to oversee project design, execution, and completion, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and profitability standards.
Financial Acumen: Strong skills in financial management, including budget oversight, transparent financial reporting, and risk management.
Health & Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, with experience in implementing and auditing safety programs.
Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing project teams, with a focus on leadership and resource management.
Stakeholder Management: Effective communication and relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to protect and enhance the company’s brand.
