About the Role
We are seeking motivated and results-driven Construction Technicians to join our team at Extrastaff Limited.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that requires flexibility in work locations as you may be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects.
Key Responsibilities
Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level
Creating structures, forms or chutes and pouring concrete
Covering subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base
Filling cracks or other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patch, using patching plaster, trowel, and sanding tool
Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools
General labouring and cleaning construction sites as required by managers
Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around building sites
Requirements
Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential
Friendly, with good time management, and excellent work ethic
A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry
Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures
Reliable and hardworking
Work Details
Minimum $26.6+ per hour to a maximum of $32 per hour
Minimum 30 hours of work is guaranteed
Location
You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
