About the Role
Provide comprehensive anaesthesia, acute pain, and perioperative services for elective and emergency patients at Waikato and Thames Hospitals
Participate in an on-call roster
Actively contribute to teaching, research, and service improvement
Model a high degree of professionalism, collaboration, and leadership
Work within a team-based model of care alongside skilled colleagues in anaesthesia, surgery, and perioperative medicine

Our Anaesthesia Department has a strong track record in teaching, continuing medical education and research, with close ties to the University of Auckland and University of Waikato and strives to be a centre of anaesthetic excellence in New Zealand.

About You
You will ideally have:
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or overseas equivalent (or be close to completion)
Eligibility for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
Recent clinical experience comparable to contemporary Australasian practice
Competence in providing anaesthesia for healthy children aged > 24 months
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A team-focused approach, with demonstrated leadership and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
