Performing SQL installation
Performing upgradations and Migrations
Applying patches and services packs and CU's
Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands
Performing restore activities
Working on audit reports
Working on performance issues
Configure Datbase mail configuration
Working on Automation of tasks
Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions(eg Always on )
Create, modify, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans
Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed jobs
Join customer calls for tickets
Preparing incident report
Join bridge calls for P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents
Performing SQL Decommissions
Work on change tickets and incidents
Work on blocking issues,rebuild and reorganise and update statistics tasks
Configure and manage SQL Security settings
Document the changes for future reference
Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them.
Ability to manage high severity scenarios independently or with support from senior engineers
Prior experience in executing changes as per ITIL/ISO standards
Good Communication skills
Willing to work rotational shifts and from office location
Required Technical Competencies
Infrastructure Management:
• Support on-premise and various cloud providers while adhering to centralized processes and automation scripts.
• Develop iteration and infrastructure-as-code plans, and create generic plans as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues reported.
Operations Management including Monitoring and Logging:
• Implement standard practices for monitoring and logging of infrastructure and applications.
• Develop automation processes for monitoring and logging, and choose appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Create monitoring and logging dashboards to support operations.
• Establish matrices for infrastructure and application monitoring to maintain business continuity.
Change & Release Management:
• Manage recurring change schedules, enforce change management activities, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Maintain a mandatory change book, classify changes based on risk, and manage communication and implementation plans for different application releases.
Configuration Management:
• Implement and monitor the process for configuration audits and identify best practices.
• Establish naming standards, version control, and other process guidelines.
• Provide inputs for release management planning and execution.
Incident/ Request Management:
• Analyse trends and objectives from an incident/request management standpoint, review SLA adherence, and manage aging incidents/requests.
• Facilitate the service request management process and provide training and reporting.
Knowledge Management:
• Plan and implement knowledge management framework (comprising of creating knowledge artefacts, training, review and update to artefacts, leveraging existing artefacts) for a large program.
• Write white papers/ blogs at internal level (if applicable).
Problem Management:
• Facilitates Problem Management Process and assign owners to problem records.
• Identify unsuccessful changes or missed commitments and initiate the Problem Management process for those instances.
Service Level Management:
• Assist in SLA compliance and SLA monitoring, facilitate processes and ensure SLA compliance.
• Support customer environment, Operations and services as per agreed SLA's.
Technology/Platform Knowledge:
• Implement code or configure/customize products and provide inputs in design and architecture.
• Create optimized code and review code for improvement opportunities.
• Analyse various frameworks/tools and work on medium to complex modules independently.
Stakeholder / Customer Management:
• Familiarize oneself with the standard contracts and legal agreements utilized in business unit, guarantee that they comply with stated terms, and track contract performance.
• Learn about the tools and systems for creating, compiling, and managing contracts, change control, and variations, and maintain proper contract documentation.
