Job Description
The post holder is expected to participate in revalidation and audit and partake in on-call commitment (advice for lysosomal disorders, non-resident). Supporting activities within the Department, including departmental teaching, actively engaged in MDTs, maintaining existing standard operating policies and procedures and leading on developing new SOPs and MDTs as required. The post holder is expected to demonstrate experience in a related subspecialty that would add value to patient care and align with the existing LSD service. Whilst this is a full-time clinical post, supporting any departmental research would be expected of the post holder.
Supervision and mentoring of this post will be provided by the department according to the seniority of appointee.
The RFH LSDU is a tertiary referral centre for adults with LSDs for investigations and follow-up. Patients travel from around the country to RFH LSDU. The RFH LSDU has grown ten-fold over the last 15 years.
It is intended that the post holder will work approximately 8 PAs (direct clinical care) per week, and 2 PAs (supporting) when averaged through the year. A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and Clinical Director, on behalf of the Medical Director.
