Job Description
We are seeking a Content Creator who can create original and engaging social media videos, posts, and graphics for our clients. This is a detail-oriented role that encompasses the full content creation cycle – capturing video and photos, editing to create the perfect scroll-stopping hook, adding polish with custom graphics, seamlessly managing posting schedules, and handling community engagement on our client’s accounts.
We’re looking for someone who is highly experienced at working independently to manage multiple projects, proactively stays current on the latest social media trends and technology, knows how to analyze results and pivot to new strategies when things aren’t working, and loves to collaborate with clients and team members to bring fresh and fun new ideas to life. You don’t need to be an expert at everything social media, just be ready to learn, adapt and grow with us as we take on new clients and opportunities!
This remote contract role offers a starting rate of $35-45 per hour, and is well-suited for an experienced freelancer who is available at least 10 hours per week during regular business hours (Monday-Friday * am-5 pm mountain time). It is open to candidates located within the Calgary, AB metropolitan area who are able to travel to our client’s workplaces to do in-person filming approximately 3-4 times per month. Outside of client visits and online team meetings, you’ll have full flexibility to set a work schedule that suits your needs!
About the role
Film high-quality short-form video and photo content in person using your smartphone
Edit videos and photos to create engaging reels, posts, and TikToks
Manage day-to-day posting, comments, and DMs on social media platforms
Utilize our client’s branding to develop eye-catching graphics to complement posts
Handle a variety of graphic design tasks, such as presentations and email marketing templates
Write and edit copy for social media captions and videos
About you
3-5 years of experience in social media management for multiple clients and industries
1-2 years of experience freelancing for your own clients or working in an agency environment
1-2 years in a client-facing role such as account management, customer success, retail, or hospitality
High level of proficiency in short-form video editing using tools such as Capcut and InShot
Strong visual design skills and experience creating graphics using Figma and Canva
Deep understanding of major social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok
