Job Description
As a content editor, you will help Simform continue to grow as a top publication in the software development industry. You will majorly oversee the content editing requirements with a focus on quality with respect to Simform’s standards and brand guidelines. You will work with the content team to ensure that all of Simform’s content is consistent, cohesive, and free of grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors.
The individual will be responsible for working with our team of writers and other task owners from the marketing team to edit content and provide constructive feedback to keep up with Simform’s audience and target persona. The content editor will also be responsible for maintaining in-house content and style guidelines and will work closely with the content lead and marketing lead to create appropriate writing resources for our content team.
Responsibilities:
• You will collaborate with multiple writers, strategists, and copywriters to evaluate, edit and validate content for various channels of Simform as a part of various marketing initiatives, both long term, and short term.
• You will ensure that all of Simform’s content meets the A+ quality standards. This will include proofreading, fact-checking, and source-checking along with usual guidelines.
• Understand the purpose and content requirements of different content formats, for example, articles, ebooks, whitepapers, social media, PDFs, emailers, PR, etc.
• Stay updated with industry-related trends and news so as to proactively adapt to the ever-changing software development industry.
• Understand Simform’s audience inside out to flawlessly analyze and explain technical concepts with clear, concise, and engaging language.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of content editing experience. Working knowledge and experience with the software development industry is a bonus.
• A basic understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is required.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in the English language with a knack for storytelling and creative writing.
• Mastery of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and the ability to make constructive suggestions.
• Proficiency in applying the principles of AP Style to different types of writing and a thorough understanding of AP Stylebook.
• Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text.
• Willingness to give constructive criticism on each content piece and help the individual writers in growing their skillet.
• Meticulous attention to detail, impeccable execution skills, and ability to uphold quality.
• Willingness to broaden the skillset and show participation for editing different kinds of content pieces.
• Must be a self-starter and take full ownership without much guidance on daily basis.
