Description
Food Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for various dishes in the Continental section. This could involve chopping vegetables, marinating meats, preparing sauces, or assembling components of a dish.
Cooking Techniques: Learning and practicing different cooking techniques used in Continental cuisine, such as sautéing, grilling, roasting, poaching, and baking. You may be involved in cooking dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
Plating and Presentation: Assisting in the plating and presentation of dishes according to the established standards. This includes ensuring that the appearance of the dish is visually appealing and that portion sizes are consistent.
Inventory Management: Assisting in monitoring and managing inventory in the Continental section, including checking stock levels, rotating perishable items, and notifying senior chefs about any shortages or requirements.
Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and organized work station, adhering to proper food handling and safety guidelines, and following hygiene practices to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
Learning and Development: Continuously improving your culinary skills and knowledge of Continental cuisine by actively learning from senior chefs, attending training sessions, and staying updated with industry trends and techniques.
