US Accountant (Yardi) Job Opportunity:

• Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Accountant to join our finance team.

• The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Yardi Voyager and manage complex accounting functions for our US real estate portfolio.

">Requirements:

• 7-10 years of US accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager including modules like Payables, Receivables, CAM, Budgeting and Reporting.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, lease accounting and property financials.

• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other financial systems and ERP platforms.

Preference will be given to candidates with CPA certification, prior experience supporting multi-entity accounting within a real estate portfolio and familiarity with NetSuite, AppFolio, or QuickBooks.

">Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of US-based real estate assets using Yardi Voyager.

• Perform general ledger reviews, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end closings.

• Oversee AP/AR processes, CAM reconciliations and accruals within the Yardi system.

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports for multiple properties.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes using Yardi's Budgeting & Forecasting modules.

• Handle intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations and tenant ledger reviews.

• Ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

• Collaborate with property managers, auditors and clients to resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Support audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations and documentation as needed.

• Train and mentor junior accounting staff on Yardi modules and real estate financial processes.

Role Description

This role is for a Contract Accountant / Auditor.

You will be responsible for proactively managing your client workflows, ensuring deadlines are met, compliance with current accounting and audit standards, preparing workpapers and supporting clients with their requirements on a timely basis.

This remote position is for work between 9am to 5pm New Zealand time.

We are looking for someone who can lead the end-to-end technical delivery of auditing, financial reporting, and accounting services to a high standard. We are also open to candidates with relevant overseas experience who want to gain experience with a New Zealand firm.

• Communicating insightful analysis to senior staff and stakeholders

• Working closely with the Director to deliver high quality services

• Contributing to continuous improvement and ad hoc projects

• Leading service delivery and meeting client deadlines

• Compiling annual and periodic financial statements

• Corporate finance and valuations for businesses

• Coding and reconciliation of transactions in Xero

• Auditing year-end financial statements

• Automating or simplifying processes

Experience and Attributes:

Required:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in an accounting / auditor role at a CPA / CA firm

• Able to manage competing priorities and work efficiently to meet deadlines

• Able to present financial information simply to non-financial stakeholders

• Experience working with clients in a consulting firm or corporate setting

• High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices

• Experience working remotely with modern collaboration tools

• Able to work independently and also support team members

• Strong technical accounting skills, including IFRS and ISAs

• Quick learner with a good ability to solve issues

• Audit, review and financial reporting experience

• Resilience and a professional working style

• Previous customer service experience

• Excellent project management skills

• Xero Advisor certification

• Excellent writing skills

• Attention to detail

• Proactive

• Accuracy

• Integrity

Must have listed company audit experience.
