ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

Use your expertise to support life-changing services across Australia

Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for purpose? Do you want your contract coordination skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others?

About the role

At The Salvation Army, we're looking for a Contract Services Coordinator to join our Policy, Research and Social Justice team—a dynamic, values-led department focused on enabling front-line mission through sound governance, funding, and compliance.

In this key role, you’ll help power the delivery of services that reach vulnerable individuals and communities across the country. From ensuring compliance to preparing contracts and supporting funding submissions, your behind-the-scenes work will help drive real, visible change.

Reporting to the Contract Services Manager, this is a permanent position, (with full-time and or part-time position available), based in THQ Blackburn, VIC.

You will successfully

Coordinate the review and preparation of contracts, tenders, and funding applications

Provide advice on compliance, KPIs, terms, and service outcomes

Support teams across Social Mission, Corps and Community Engagement

Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to developing contract processes and systems

Manage documentation and communication through Zendesk and other platforms

Your work will be integral to helping us care for people, build healthy communities, and advocate for justice—because strong contracts create strong programs.

You will have

A tertiary qualification or proven experience in contract coordination or a related field

Experience in the community services sector

Solid knowledge of contract management practices, compliance processes, and legislative awareness

Strong communication and analytical skills—you translate complexity into clarity

A collaborative mindset and a solutions-focused approach

A current Employee Working With Children's Check

Familiarity with government grants, funding agreements, or nonprofits is a plus.

What we offer

When you join The Salvation Army, you become part of a movement for justice, hope, and dignity. We offer:

Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit;

Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities;

Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives

Ongoing training and development to deepen your skills and knowledge

A supportive, collaborative environment grounded in our values of integrity, compassion, and respect

The chance to work with a mission-driven organisation committed to meaningful social change
