Position Summary
SeaTac Lighting & Controls is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Contractor Sales Representative to develop and support electrical contractor accounts throughout Western Washington.
This role is responsible for building strong partnerships with electrical contractors, driving project quotations, influencing product selection, and securing orders across commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate understands the bid process, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is skilled at balancing relationship management with closing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with:
Electrical contractors (project managers & estimators)
Purchasing agents
Field supervisors
Distributor inside and outside sales teams
Drive lighting and lighting controls product sales through contractor channels.
Review project plans and specifications to identify opportunities.
Assist contractors with product selection, substitutions, and value engineering.
Coordinate closely with the quotations and project management teams.
Track bid activity and follow up on open quotes.
Attend jobsite visits and contractor meetings as needed.
Support order execution through project completion.
Maintain CRM documentation and pipeline visibility.
Qualifications
Required:
3+ years of sales experience in lighting, electrical, or construction-related industries.
Working knowledge of commercial electrical construction and bid processes.
Ability to read lighting schedules and construction drawings.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
Preferred:
Existing relationships with Western Washington electrical contractors.
Experience working within a manufacturers’ representative agency.
Knowledge of lighting controls and integration.
Familiarity with distribution sales models.
