About The Project
DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin's cultural heritage and meet its growing needs.

The $150-million civic centre project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in contract administration and procurement, managing complex budgets, including $77 million in council contributions and balance provided by DCOH.

The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements like carparking and building infrastructure. Who You Are
A highly skilled Contracts Manager with extensive experience in overseeing procurement, contract administration, and commercial risk management within the construction industry
Passionate about ensuring all contractual obligations are met while mitigating financial risks and optimising project outcomes
Experienced in managing the entire contract lifecycle, from tendering and award through to execution and finalisation
Proficient in developing procurement strategies that align with project goals and timelines
Adept at managing cost control measures, reviewing financial forecasts, and ensuring adherence to project budgets
Strong leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and managing teams to deliver high-value projects
Skilled in resolving contractual disputes and negotiating variations, progress claims, and final accounts
Committed to compliance with legal and industry standards, ensuring the project stays on track and within scope
A strategic thinker with exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in JobPac, MS Office, and project management software, with strong organisational skills
What You'll Do
Contract Lifecycle Management & Compliance
Lead and manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring successful tendering, contract award, execution, and finalisation
Provide expert advice on contract terms, variations, and claims management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Develop and implement contract management systems to monitor and enforce obligations, ensuring timely and on-budget deliverables
Oversee the administration of head and subcontracts, ensuring all obligations are properly executed
Procurement & Cost Control
Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines
Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and timely contract awards
Lead cost control measures, reviewing financial forecasts and budgets to ensure adherence to project financial goals
Oversee the preparation of tender documentation, including scope of work, comparison reports, and evaluation of subcontractor submissions
Risk & Dispute Management
Proactively identify and manage project risks, developing risk mitigation strategies
Lead the resolution of contractual disputes, working with legal teams to ensure compliance with contract terms
Oversee the negotiation of variations, progress claims, and final accounts, ensuring adjustments are in line with contracts
Project Reporting & Coordination
Provide strategic oversight of project reporting, ensuring timely and accurate reports for senior management, clients, and stakeholders
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution, maintaining high standards of quality, cost control, and compliance
Review and assess project performance metrics, ensuring KPIs are met and projects remain on track
Leadership & Team Management
Mentor and manage a team of Contract Administrators, supporting their development and alignment with project goals
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, councils, certifiers, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration throughout the project lifecycle
