Our Operations

Prominent Hill produces one of the highest grades of copper concentrate in the world. Located 650 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Prominent Hill is part of our Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations, and is located on the traditional lands of the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara people. About the Role

We currently have a role available for a Control Systems Technician with Process plant experience to join our Surface Maintenance department. In this role you will be responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within an operational mining environment. Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within the mine.

Please note this position is based at Prominent Hill on a FIFO from Adelaide or Pt Augusta basis, operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern arrangement.

In this role you will:

Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to Processing plant systems
Assist in resolution of Control Systems issues affecting equipment performance and availability
Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history
Provide Control Systems trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the mine area, to ensure overall reliability and stability
Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures
Communicate plant status to appropriate departments
Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas

About You

Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualifications (essential)
South Australian A-class Electrical Workers license (or ability to obtain)
Australian recognised Control Systems accreditations/qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
Experience working in a similar role within a Processing plant
Technical working knowledge of PLCs (AB & Siemens), VVVFs (Fuji & Siemens), networks, instrumentation, HV/LV motors and Citect systems (or similar, relevant systems)
Working at Heights accreditation and experience (preferred)
Experience with underground mining environments (preferred)
Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
Ability to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if needed
Adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information
