Job Description
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, experience within a manufacturing environment, and the ability to improve processes and controls within a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Manage and maintain cost accounting systems including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory levels, and margins to support operational decision-making.
• Work closely with operations to analyze production costs, inventory controls, and process efficiencies.
• Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Analyze financial performance versus budget and provide variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting systems, financial processes, and reporting capabilities.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Manufacturing industry experience required, with strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
