We seek a proactive and strategic Junior Financial Controller to join our team. This position requires a hands-on professional with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of leading a finance team and structuring key financial processes. The ideal candidate will have solid experience and be ready to drive efficiency, accuracy, and integration across the company’s financial operations.
The Controller will play a crucial role in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning, ensuring that the practice remains financially healthy and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial operations including accounting, billing, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the practice's growth and sustainability.
Monitor and optimize cash flow, payments, and receivables.
Prepare and manage annual budgets, including monitoring actual vs. budget performance.
Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
Present financial reports to the management team, highlighting key trends and areas of concern.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the practice's financial assets.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
Promote alignment with other departments to ensure integrated and strategic financial flows.
Support strategic planning initiatives, providing financial insights and analysis to guide decision-making.
Improve and standardize financial processes to bring organization and strategic vision..
Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations across the practice.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial management or accounting, with at least 2 years in a healthcare or dental practice setting.
Proven experience in managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Net suite and Power Bi, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of dental practice management software is a plus.
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of integrity and ethical responsibility.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.
CPA certification (completed or in progress)
