We've just restructured our engineering function to reflect this, and we're now hiring a Control Systems Engineer to lead automation, controls, and data-driven transformation across multiple manufacturing sites.

Based at our Wetherill Park office (Sydney) or can be Brisbane based, this is a new, strategic role - perfect for someone who can walk into a plant, take the lead, and roll up their sleeves. Travel to various sites will also be required.

About the role:

Design, develop, and implement automation & control systems across CSR Interior manufacturing plants

Deliver end-to-end control system upgrades and capital projects - from design to commissioning

Provide hands-on PLC programming, simulation, and network setup

Set and maintain instrumentation and equipment standards aligned to safety and compliance

Mentor site teams in controls best practices and support change management processes

Build strong relationships across operations, IT/OT, and maintenance to enhance plant performance

Support data systems (MES, SQL, FactoryTalk, etc.) for factory-level reporting

About you:

Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline (Electrical preferred)

Extensive experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment

Proven background in delivering process control and automation projects - essential

Hands-on experience with Rockwell (Studio 5000), FactoryTalk View/Transaction Manager; Siemens S7, InTouch, and SCADA systems

Understanding of AS4024 safety standards and Functional Safety systems - TUV certified is a plus

Strong skills in Microsoft SQL, Access, and Windows environments

Strong project management capability - PMBoK or similar ideal

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Flexibility to travel across Sydney-based manufacturing sites

Ideal but not essential:

Electrical licence

Experience in insulation, building products, or related manufacturing sectors

Familiarity with cybersecurity and data/network infrastructure in industrial settings
