We are looking for COO for a Not for profit company GTNfW (Part of SEWA)
Location: Ahmedabad

Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) is a member-based organization of poor, self-employed women workers in the informal economy. Today they have a membership of 2.5 million women workers from across 18 states of India. SEWA’s main goal is to organize the women workers for full employment and self-reliance.
In 2009 SEWA launched its Hariyali (‘Green Livelihood’) campaign, with 3 goals to deliver Energy Access, Financial Inclusion & Gender Empowerment for SEWA members. Hariyali is implemented through a special purpose vehicle Grassroot Trading Network for Women (GTNfW), a not-for-profit company registered under the Indian Companies Act 1956.
The key to success was in building a model which is sustainable, replicable and scalable. Hariyali chose to aggregate women’s cooperatives and build partnerships with providers of Technology & Finance, represented.
Responsibilities for COO for GTNfW (Grassroot Trading Network for Women) On-Going Business
(1) Communication : Communicating, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, and the public ,Regular calls with BoDs, Timely sending of Agenda and Minutes.
(2) Compliance: Compliance to regulations applicable to GTNfW. Ensure the company’s complicity with legal and business ethics
(3) Vision Building and Strategy formulation:
Creating vision and mission in sync with Board, Chairperson and Stakeholders. Create high quality strategy plan and implement GTNfW’s vision and mission, Leading the development of the company’s short- and long-term strategy, Ensuring strategic goals are measurable and describable
(4) Business Growth: Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments, etc. Ensuring that the company maintains high social responsibility wherever it does business. Assessing risks to the company and ensuring they are monitored and minimized
(5) Team Perspective: Lead with an example and motivate subordinates. Encourage employee engagement
Train a high performing managerial team. Oversee all operations and business activities. Evaluating the work of other executive leaders within the company, including directors, vice presidents, and presidents
(6) Decision Making: Make high-quality investing decisions. Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies
(7) General: Review financial and non-financial reports. Give advice for improvement and suggestions for solution
Build trusting relations with key partners and stakeholders, Maintain contact with important shareholders
Train, motivate and lead others. Analyse problematic situations and suggest solutions. Keep abreast of the markets and industry trends
Desired Qualification
(i) Empathy towards SEWA sisters and District Association challenges
(ii) Deep commitment to protect the org, board and chairperson from various external treats
(iii) MBA with 15+ years of experience in energy, finance or similar industry
(iv) Good command on Gujarati, Hindi and English
Note: Since this is Not for profit Company, the budget for this role will not go beyond 24 lacs per annum
