Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing for service and cooking dishes as per the menu and recipes provided.
Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Catering to cultural and special dietary needs of customers.
Communicating effectively with floor and other kitchen staff.
Receiving and storing food at ideal temperatures.
Liaising with managers and other staff regarding food preparation issues.
Instructing and training junior kitchen staff.
Assisting in ordering food supplies and estimating food requirements.
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment.
Assisting in planning menus and minimising food wastage.
Requirements:
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not mandatory).
Minimum 1-2 years' full-time work experience as a cook, preferably in Indian cuisine.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.

Blu Ginger is an iconic fine dining restaurant serving Indian cuisine in Canberra. We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 to $80,000 + 11.5% superannuation, working 38 hours per week in a full-time role.
