About the Company:
Kien Lim & Win Lim Partnership, trading as Vietnam Café, is a well-established restaurant located on Atkinson Avenue, Otahuhu. With over 30 years of operation, we have built a strong reputation for serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a warm and welcoming environment. As our business continues to grow, we are currently seeking two full-time Cooks to join our team. This is a permanent full-time role with an immediate start and a competitive market rate.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of Vietnamese and Asian dishes from our menu
Set up and stock kitchen stations with required supplies and ingredients
Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard, with correct portion sizes
Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating during service
Work closely with other kitchen staff and the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
May assist in planning menus and estimating food and ingredient needs
May train, supervise, and support junior kitchen staff and apprentices
Follow all health and safety regulations
Report maintenance or equipment issues as needed
Perform other kitchen-related duties as required
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ kitchen working experience in an Asian restaurant or similar environment
Solid understanding of traditional Asian ingredients and cooking techniques
Skilled in operating standard kitchen equipment (e.g., wok, steamer, rice cooker)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and manage multiple tasks during peak hours
Strong attention to detail and passion for delivering quality food
Good communication and time management skills
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
