Overview
ATCO Frontec is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to support food service operations at Canadian Forces Military Staff College in North York. The successful candidate will assist the Chef in preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in a structured and high-volume environment.
Wage: $20.50 Hourly
Responsibilities
Assist the Chef in managing food services in compliance with Food Service Management Guides and Provincial and Federal Regulations.
Assist the Chef in the preparation of all foods to be served in accordance with meal plans and schedules.
Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance.
Ensure meals are prepared and served to the highest standard.
Support kitchen operations in a professional manner.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and knowledgeably.
Inspect food and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Maintain a clean and tidy workplace.
Other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications
Advanced Food Safe Certificate required.
Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in cooking.
3-5 years’ experience as a cook in the hotel/restaurant industry.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Professional communication skills, oral and written.
Work well under pressure.
Strong organization and leadership skills.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Lead by example in promoting a respectful and professional work environment.
Must be based in the Toronto Area
The successful candidate will be required to complete drug and ******* testing, as well as obtain criminal background and government security clearance as part of the hiring process.
