SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Cook on behalf of our client, who specialises in vibrant, authentic South Asian cuisine (Sri Lankan, Indian, Malaysian and Indonesian) in a relaxed and welcoming setting. With a strong focus on bold flavours, fresh ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques, the restaurant offers a diverse lunch and dinner menu that celebrates rich culinary heritage while appealing to a broad customer base.

Position - Cook
Location – Henley Beach, South Australia 5022
Salary - $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent
THE ROLE:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join the friendly and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment focussed on delivering high-quality cuisine with exceptional presentation and consistency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Prepare, season and cook a variety of menu items in accordance with established recipes, kitchen standards and service requirements.
· Assist the Chef in the preparation and cooking of authentic dishes while maintaining consistency in flavour, quality and presentation.
· Ensure all ingredients and dishes are prepared and portioned correctly, finishing meals with appropriate sauces, garnishes and plating.
· Prepare and adapt meals to meet the individual needs of diners, including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific preferences.
· Monitor and regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment to ensure food is cooked safely and efficiently.
· Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with kitchen and food handling regulations.
· Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries, storing food correctly and ensuring ingredients remain fresh and properly labeled.
· Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and timely preparation of meals.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment throughout all shifts.
· Follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment at all times.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Relevant qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant.
Experience in preparing and cooking traditional dishes across South Asian styles (Sri Lankan, Indian, Malaysian and Indonesian).
Understanding of flavour balancing, spice profiles and traditional cooking techniques relevant to South Asian Cuisine.
Dedicated to consistently delivering high-quality food with a focus on presentation.
Knowledge and commitment to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Available to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends as required.
You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
