About the Role
We are currently hiring Cook for our Montania Cafe-Bar & Restaurant based in Ferntree Gully. This role is open to both local and overseas culinary professionals. Visa sponsorship may be available for suitable overseas candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Inspects and selects high-quality ingredients to ensure freshness, flavor, and compliance with food safety standards.
Prepares ingredients by measuring, cleaning, chopping, blending, seasoning, heating, and cooling in accordance with recipe specifications and safety guidelines.
Monitors cooking processes to ensure food is prepared to the proper temperature, texture, and presentation standards.
Coordinates, supervises, and collaborates with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation and cooking.
Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and utensils to ensure a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment.
Monitors and maintains inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing waste.
Assists in the development and testing of new recipes and menu items to enhance culinary offerings and meet customer preferences.
Required Qualifications & Skills
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques
Excellent time management and multitasking skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team
