Omeros Bros is a multi-award winning seafood fine-dining restaurant located on the Gold Coast.
The Role
Join our team of experienced chefs at Omeros Bros Seafood Restaurant. This is a full-time role with an annual salary between $75,000 and $85,000 plus superannuation. The role is based in our restaurant at Main Beach, Gold Coast, QLD.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food to meet our high standards.
Enhance flavours by seasoning food appropriately during cooking.
Inspect foodstuffs to ensure quality standards are met.
Use, configure, and regulate cooking equipment temperatures for proper cooking.
Portion food, arrange it on plates, and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes for presentation.
Store food in temperature-controlled environments to maintain freshness and food safety.
Prepare food that meets special dietary needs and requirements.
Assist Chefs in planning menus and estimate food quantities if required.
Train junior cooks, kitchen hands, and apprentice cooks to improve kitchen operations and skills.
Requirements:
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
At least 5 years of experience working in fine dining restaurants.
Experience working with premium and local produce, seafood, and meat, especially local crustaceans.
High standard of precision and artistic presentation of dishes.
Knowledge of Australian food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.
Able to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen operations.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
Team focused attitude with confident and friendly personality.
Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and varying shifts.
