We are seeking a passionate and skilled chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a nursing home setting and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious meals that meet our high standards, ensuring that every dish is presented beautifully and served promptly. You will be cooking using fresh ingredients and you will have a good understanding of textured foods.
• DutiesPrepare and cook a variety of meals according to menus that you have created.
Create a nutritional, seasonal rolling 4 week menu.
Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and create shopping list.
• SkillsProven experience as a Cook.
Leading a small team of kitchen assistants and pot wash person.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and meal presentation.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within the kitchen.
Rota management.
