Job Summary

The Coordinator, Alumni Engagement actively participates in developing strategic initiatives to encourage continued alumni engagement for more than 50,000 UFV alumni.

This position plays a key role in supporting the development of a passionate, connected community of UFV Alumni. The Coordinator uses extensive knowledge of alumni within key alumni markets to implement the defined plan to increase alumni engagement. The Coordinator is responsible for producing marketing and communications materials related to alumni events, programs and activities. The Coordinator supports assigned Alumni related events and projects from the idea phase to implementation. The incumbent provides administrative support for the Director, Alumni Engagement as well as the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Note: This posting is for a leave replacement for six months or to end of leave, whichever date occurs first, or with the possiblity of extension.

Qualifications

Diploma in an applicable discipline (e.g., communications, business administration, marketing) from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in a post-secondary or similarly complex organizational environment.

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, demonstrating a superior command of the English language. Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with a passion for engaging storytelling.

Exceptional organizational abilities, planning skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, manage competing priorities, work to deadlines and make quick, appropriate decisions when challenged.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Strategic thinker with superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to stay current and adapt to change.

Demonstrates creativity and initiative thinking.

Ability to address complex/sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to exercise mature judgement, initiative and independence in setting and accomplishing goals and priorities.

Excellent knowledge and proven experience with MS Office suite. Familiarity with various digital platforms such as Graduway, Blackbaud NetCommunity, Raiser’s Edge database is an asset.

Event management experience is an asset.

Responsible, outgoing, enthusiastic team player who is results-oriented and dedicated to team success.

Adept at building and leveraging a network of relationships to achieve goals.

Project management experience, including project coordination, is an asset.

Practical understanding of content management systems, including maintenance of existing content, form management, and creation of new posts, pages, and events.
