Coordinator Arts & Culture

Permanent Full Time

Salary Range: $105,380.60 - $117,233.48 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

Location: Headquarters, Morwell

Department: Creative Venues, Events and Tourism

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join Latrobe City Council as the Coordinator Arts & Culture, providing leadership and strategic direction for the development of arts and culture within the municipality.

Duties of the role would include:

Collaborating with our Creative Venues, Events and Tourism teams to drive placemaking, arts & cultural strategies that activate spaces, enhance destination appeal, encourage community engagement and participation, and contribute to the growth of local visitor economy.
Develop cultural initiatives that strengthen Latrobe City's unique cultural identity, enhance its reputation as a cultural and tourism destination.
Lead the identification and development of funding, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities to support arts and cultural programs that deliver training, community, and tourism outcomes.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance, package and promote Latrobe City's arts and cultural offerings as integral components of the region's visitor proposition.
About You

For this position we are seeking someone with experience delivering large-scale, cross-disciplinary programs with a strong background in community engagement and stakeholder management within the arts and culture sector.

You will have:

Post graduate qualification in Cultural Development, Arts Management or Public Sector Leadership, with no less than three years demonstrated experience leading significant arts and culture portfolios.
Proven ability to develop and implement successful placemaking, arts and cultural strategies that meet diverse objectives.
Experience in securing and managing funding, grants, and sponsorships for cultural initiatives.
Experience leading cultural responses to place identity, reconciliation, and social cohesion goals through collaborative frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in managing collaborative programs within a government or institutional setting.
Understanding of the role of local government, and arts and culture in community and associated economic development.
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
