About the Role:

The Child-Minding Coordinator provides effective supervision and coordination of City of Edmonton Recreation Centre child minding programs. This is a salaried role with benefits. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-12:30 pm and 4:15-8:15 pm. Friday and Saturday 8:30am-12:30 pm

Responsibilities:

Provide high quality and inclusive child-minding experience for all children and families.
Coach and support educators through role modeling, upholding curriculum standards, and fostering an inclusive environment so they can meet expectations outlined in their job descriptions.
Spend a minimum of 75% of time in the classrooms.
Supports, assists and mentors new Educators Work as an in-classroom mentor for new hires following the training manual; Implements approved curriculum designed to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child, fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
Maintains a safe and supportive environment by following YMCA/City of Edmonton policies/procedures, and Health Regulations.
Develop relationships with their City of Edmonton Recreation Centre contact.
Daily monitoring of indoor playgrounds.
Work in program as an instructor as required, including supporting other Child Minding programs.
Engage in continuous professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of Child Care.
Qualifications:

Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification, or in progress.
Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C.
Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.
Leadership experience in children’s programs.
Ability to work in a team and with minimal supervision.
Experience working with a computer and Microsoft Office applications.
