Join UnitingSA’s Port Youth team as our Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Port Youth team provide quality services to young people who are assisted through the supported accommodation setting and assist clients to transition to independent living in the community. The role entails staff supervision, coordination and support, on-call (including weekends) responsibilities, complex case management and the implementation of quality services as outlined by the Adelaide North West Homelessness Alliance (ANWHA) and UnitingSA. The role also includes early morning shifts commencing at 730am.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the day-to-day operation and quality assurance of the crisis accommodation team and other project staff
Develop rosters of staff with consideration for industrial parameters, fairness and required staffing ratios
Monitor the quality of work being delivered by teams
Work within the principles of collaboration with all team members
Ensure a safe working environment that meets Work Health and Safety requirements
Be an active member of the team and positively contribute to a team environment
Provide case management oversight including facilitating complex case reviews, family reunifications, managing crisis situations and negotiating exit pathways
Respond to client enquiries and complaints, ministerial requests and child protections matters in a timely manner
Provide linkages and referrals to other agencies (where appropriate)
Operate services and programs within the set budgets allocated
Skills & Experience:
Significant experience working with young people with multiple and complex needs within the Homelessness Sector
Leadership of others including, supervision, support and coordination
Experience in working with marginalised people, including skills in case planning, complex case management and different models of intervention
Tertiary qualification in community services, social work or equivalent and extensive community work and training (essential)
Current SA driver’s licence (essential)
Current DHS Working with Children Check (essential)
Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
Current National Police Clearance (essential)
Safe Environments For Children and Young People – Through their Eyes Certificate (essential)
DCP Psychological Suitability (essential)
