Defence Security (DSY) provides a sustainable and credible security organisation primarily focussed on NZDF's domestic security environment through the provision of a range of protective security policies, services, products, and advice.
We are looking for a Coordinator Security Incidents to join our team in this newly established position. In this role you will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operation of the DSY Security Incident Management (SIM) system.
This will require you to:
Track and triage Security Incident Reports, assessing associated risks, coordinating responses and escalating high risk incidents to senior leaders.
Follow-up Security Incident Report cases through to appropriate closure.
Analyse Security Incident data, trends and risks, and generate associated routine reports.
Proactively drive improvement to Security Incident Management policy, processes, procedures, and systems using Security Incident trends and risk insights to inform and strengthen security policy and educational products.

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience managing security risks at an enterprise level across a large complex organisation. Equally, you will have strong stakeholder engagement skills, as well as take a proactive approach to your work to ensure risks are identified, triaged, managed and coordinated effectively.
Ideally you will also bring:
Well-developed analytical, risk assessment, critical thinking and report writing skills.
The ability to manage relationships across a large, complex organisation.
A high attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritise deliverables.
Sound judgement across a broad range of issues.
Demonstrated experience in risk identification, assessment, and management.
A working knowledge of the New Zealand Government Protective Security Requirements.
A high level of competence with database and SharePoint applications.
Knowledge of NZDF policies, processes and organisational structure is highly desirable.

This role may require occasional domestic travel, therefore you must have a Class 1 Full Driver's Licence. You will also need to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:
Higher Level Security Clearance
You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
