A bit about the role
Wyndham City has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and passionate leader to lead the innovative Youth Services Unit.
The Coordinator Youth Services is responsible for the development and delivery of evidence-based initiatives and services that enable the development of an integrated, contemporary and innovative support system for young people.
Utilising a youth-centered approach, you will lead a passionate, multidisciplinary team as a strong, influential and experienced leader. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team to engage effectively with internal and external partners to support the development of a robust youth services sector.
Your relevant qualifications, experience and knowledge of strategic planning, advocacy, youth practice, change management along with your project management and strong leadership skills will be critical to ensuring your success in this role.
What you will deliver
The development and management of the Units business planning and strategic reporting
Positive engagement and advocacy to enable the diversification of funding and programs
Develop and coordinate strategic partnerships with service providers, internal stakeholders, Government other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for young people in Wyndham.
Positive organisational culture by cultivating Wyndham’s values, open communication and collaboration for maximum employee engagement and key deliverables
Strong people leadership and change management processes
The development of a culture of continuous improvement within a youth centered design approach
Strategic advice, reports and briefings to enable the development of an integrated, contemporary and innovative support system for young people
What you will bring
Completion of a tertiary degree qualification in human services or other relevant specialist area, and/or extensive relevant experience in human service areas
Demonstrated experience in the provision of strategic leadership and management of youth related services
Sound knowledge of services for young people and the relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations and funding guidelines
Exceptional experience in project management, report writing and evaluation, budgeting and finance
Strong understanding of the principles of human centred design
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and analyse strategic opportunities to enable service development and systemic change and innovation in a growing community
