Adept at performing quickly under pressure as you work with reporters and the news editor to produce compelling stories that appeal to Brut's video viewers.Well versed in writing for videos on social media.Widely read in Indian political news and comfortable editing stories across genres like entertainment, feature stories among others.An individual who has a strong background in editing, with an eye for detail and the ability to simplify and explain often-complex material.Ensuring that material is clear, consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written, grammatically correct and accessibleVerifying factual correctness of information, such as dates and statisticsChecking the text for style, readability, and adherence to editorial policiesHighly proficient in verbal and written communicationConversant with social media best practicesAbility to understand the ethical framework in digital environment in sync with Brut’s philosophy
Requirements:
Experience of 8-10 years as a copy editorA Master’s Degree in Journalism/ communicationA previous experience in media (TV, radio, social media)Proficiency in both English and Hindi will be an advantageKnowledge of Indian politics and cultureAttention to detail and accuracy a must & Intuitive understanding of storytelling on social mediaShould be a strong Team player and someone who thrives on internet cultureSelf-starter who requires minimal supervision and has passion for visual storytelling in new format
