Additionally, the role involves reviewing, editing, and fact-checking articles to ensure accuracy and adherence to our style guide.
Monitoring social media activities and trends and fact-checking viral content will also be vital to this role.
Key Responsibilities: 1.
Writing :
Write and deliver timely news articles to keep the news website current and relevant.
Break news stories on the website and social media simultaneously, ensuring our audience is always informed.
Follow developing situations and coordinate with reporters on the ground to gather accurate and timely information.
Monitor breaking news and update articles as necessary to maintain timeliness and relevance.
Editing and Proof Reading:
Review and edit articles submitted by reporters for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
Ensure adherence to our style guide and maintain consistency in tone and voice across all articles.
Fact-check all stories for accuracy, verifying information with reliable sources.
Social
MediaMonitoring :
Monitor social media activities and trends to ensure our coverage is current and relevant.
Fact-check viral content on social media when required, ensuring our audience is accurately informed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
Exceptional editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
