Job Description
As a creative team member, our copywriter writes and proofreads copy for various projects (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media). In addition, they will work closely with the accounts and design teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop engaging content.
The copywriter must understand the client's industry, products/services, branding, and marketing goals. This process of understanding involves research and interviews. The copywriter must be a quick learner with a versatile writing style.
Objectives of this role:
• Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work culture with a high volume of tasks often requiring short turnaround times.
• Strive to raise the bar on creativity by writing fresh copy that connects with the target audience and drives action.
• Comfortably vary the voice, style, and other characteristics of the content demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand.
• Stay aware of communication and client-related industry trends.
• Ensure appropriate writing style and brand voice for maintaining consistency in the content.
Daily and monthly responsibilities:
• Bring out the best creative briefs to develop innovative concepts through execution on assigned brands.
• Research, brainstorm, and understand the client's needs and target audiences through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings.
• The original copy should be properly proofread ahead of corporate marketing.
• Collaborate with a team of account managers and creative staff from concept development to delivery of the final product.
• Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team and client representative as needed and participate in client pitches on occasion.
• Be open to revision based on internal and client feedback/direction.
Skills and qualifications:
• BA in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional copywriting experience with a solid portfolio of work.
• Outstanding writing and research skills.
• Independently work with a team to meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Social media or content marketing experience is an add-on.
• Proofreading experience adhering to the standard style guides are a plus.
• Experience working with content management systems, WordPress, etc.
• A keen eye for detail and work hand in hand to bring out the best design.
