Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist with maintaining stock levels in all OR’s and OR sterile core, and other necessary supply carts.
• Transport stretchers, carts, medical/surgical equipment, supplies, patients, and specimens as required.
• Assist in the OR supporting cleaning efforts, patient movement, and tasks delegated by Nursing.
• Pick daily OR Case Carts for each scheduled surgery.
• Set-up each OR for next day.
• Familiar with OR Slates and specialized equipment.
• Open sterile supplies and instrument sets as directed by nursing
• Collaborate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Aid in patient movement within the department, including assistance with transfers.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean environment by cleaning equipment and conducting routine checks for functionality.
• Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission, vision, and values.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to uphold standards of care.
• Possess knowledge of essential clinical supplies used within the area of responsibility.
• Report broken equipment promptly to managers/designates, initiating repair or replacement processes and coordinating transportation to Maintenance as needed.
• Be available to assist with OR turnovers and specimen handling.
• Prioritize duties according to urgency when not directly involved in turnovers or patient care.
• Participate in the Shipping/Receiving function of the facility, receiving and delivering goods as needed.

Required Education and Qualifications:
• Successful completion of Secondary School or its equivalent
• Preferred HCA
• Knowledge of sterile processes
• Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience would be an asset
• Understand and adhere to facility policies and procedures including Infection Control policies, uniform dress code, cell phones and all other devices and mandatory legislation such as; Human Rights Code, Confidentiality policies and safety procedures
• Demonstrated ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language (written and verbal)
• Demonstrated ability to use positive communication skills with patients, families and colleagues
• Knowledge of safe handling of sharps and biomedical waste
• Ability to demonstrate understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form
• Good working knowledge of medical supplies and sterilization
• Able to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to operate specialty equipment such as beds, limb holders etc.
• IPAC precautions and associated disinfection of equipment and supplies
• Physically able to push stretchers, lift and store linen and surgical supplies, clean stretchers
• Experience in shipping and receiving, supply chain experience would be an asset
