About The Role
This role, while primarily focused on Android development, will frequently involve working with Flutter and Dart for cross-platform solutions.
Responsibilities Include And Are Not Limited To
Reporting and taking instruction from the Principal Engineer, Core
Contributing to development of SDKs and supporting cloud integration
Actively engaging with Core team to resolve challenging design and coding issues
Collaborate closely with iOS, cloud, and other teams to ensure seamless and consistent implementation of features and fixes across platforms.
Contribute to technological innovation through exploration of cutting-edge hardware, software, and methods
Engage in cross-functional design discussions to align on app functionality and user experience. Ensuring project’s reliability, performance, and ease of maintenance
Work with QA team across platforms to ensure uniform testing and quality assurance processes.
Participate in shared learning sessions and cross-training to familiarise yourself with challenges and solutions across platforms.
Presenting new ideas and approaches to stakeholders
Providing reports on and adapting interventions within the company, as required
About You
Essential Skills
C++ and Java Native Interface (JNI) experience.
Demonstrated experience of Native (Java/Kotlin) Android Development experience.
Experience with Gradle and Maven library distribution.
Experience in Flutter and Dart for cross-platform mobile application development.
A strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
Experience with modern build pipeline tools such as CI/CD, code coverage of unit tests, peer review process using Pull Requests, and code documentation generation.
Follow standard coding practices and process (e.g. following code style guidelines and implementing unit tests).
Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
A background in multi-threaded programming.
A solid foundation in programming with the ability to think, communicate, and code clearly.
Desirable
Experience with other cross platform technologies such as React Native /Cordova.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS Cloud Formation, Terraform).
Experience with Cloud Native solutions (AWS, Google, Azure etc).
Tertiary skills and experience:
Open Source Software projects or contributions.
Published an app on the App Store or Play Store.
Involvement in open source and/or public GitHub repositories or projects.
Involvement in Perth or web-based developer communities

In AHI Core Tech we are primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of our core Software Development Kit (SDK) and associated modules for our products offerings. We focus on performance and robustness and each core developer ensures that our SDKs and modules are ready for production.
Across all, we help the wider AHI team grow Advanced Health Intelligence.
