Job Description
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment, implementation and support of new or revised application systems and programs (primarily Production Quality Support role for Core Banking applications both Consumer Banking and Private Bank) in coordination with the Technology team and respective business. The overall objective of this Production Quality Support role is to lead and contribute to applications systems analysis, programming, testing support, implementation, post-live support and improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
• Function as technical intermediate programmer analyst/developer/domain knowledge expert for Core Bank applications (Consumer Banking and Private Bank), providing support (functional and technical) to various businesses and users.
• Provide technical and functional support as SME (subject matter expert) for Core Bank applications (Fixed Deposits, Customer Demographics and Relationship Management, Debit Cards processing & Customer communications), primarily as Production Quality Support (providing planning support for deployments, post-live warranty support and debugging/resolving issues in Production).
• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code. Investigate and resolve Production incidents and defects.
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems. Install solution in all applicable countries and environments/regions.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications specially in resolving defects and incidents.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging. Optimize applications for superior performance and cost reductions (i.e. I/O, space allocation, run time).
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions (tactical and strategic).
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Ability to work with across teams and partners across the same and different geographical cultures; past experience is definitely a plus.
• Work on flexible work schedules including 24x7 on call basis for UAT and Production Support and prearranged system implementation weekend support.
Qualifications:
• 6-+ years of relevant experience in systems analysis, application development/programming and application support for retail banking and/or private bank applications. Preferably with experience in Fixed Deposits, Customer Demographics and Relationship Management, Debit Cards processing & Customer communications.
